Music, Interviews and lots of Van Morrison...
If you've
never listened to a fully independent noncommercial radio station before
you've missed one of the most creative and inspiring forms of broadcast
radio. And WPKN is one of the best independent radio stations you're
likely to find. WPKN is a 100% listener-supported radio station
broadcasting at 89.5 FM in Bridgeport, Connecticut. We also broadcast on the web (www.wpkn.org) and you
can get to our home page by clicking on the logo at right. We stream live 24/7 in high-quality digital and you'll find all the help you need to listen to
the stream on our home page.
I have been doing radio at WPKN for about 20 years and it's been a great deal of fun and a terrific
learning experience. I play a lot of music and interview all sorts of
people, including musicians, actors, writers, photographers,
illustrators, storytellers and almost anyone I can convince to come
into the studio (or talk on the phone) with me. I believe I have broadcast more of Van Morrison's music than any other DJ, on any station, anywhere on the planet--and I am humbled to be able to say that. Thanks Van.
Note: My solo show is currently on hiatus while I write another book, but I shall return! In the meantime...
I am also one half of the Beppo & Gito Mongul Show--read more about that below.
