New Book on "Exposure" Already an Amazon Bestseller
My new book, Exposure Photo Workshop, is a part of the very successful Photo Workshop Series
that is being published by Wiley Publishing. If exposure has been
your nemesis (join the club!) or if you're seeking to advance your
exposures to the next level, this book provides
in-depth explanations for both beginner and experienced shooter. There's an in-depth look at both the theory of exposure and the practical applications that you can use to create more dramatic and emotional photographs. Over
300 of my photos illustrate the book. Each chapter in the book ends
with an assignment and you can post your assignment photos to the Photo Workshop website for critique.

The book covers everything including how and why digital changed the face of photography, what types of cameras are avialable (and how Elvis Presley helped created the digital revolution!), camera techniques, exposure, natural lighting, photographing popular subjects like nature, landscapes and people. There is also an extenisve chapter on using photo-editing programs to enhance your images, technically and creatively.

My new book Exposure Photo Workshop was published in March 2008 by Wiley Publishing. This book is a comprehensive guide to exposure and covers everything related to creating good exposures, including: the basic theory of exposure, how light meters and exposure systems work, how to handle difficult exposure situations (things like bad weather, high contrast, flash exposure, etc.) and when to use various exposure modes. There is an extensive section on night photography. But most importantly, the book deals with the emotional climate that you can create in your images by understanding how changes in exposure can radically change the mood of a photograph. The book is aimed at both beginning and advanced photographers.

From an Oratory
by Daniel Webster
Men hang out their signs indicative of their respective trades.
Shoemakers hang out a gigantic shoe; jewelers, a monster watch; even a
dentist hangs out a gold tooth; but up in the Franconia Mountains God
Almighty has hung out a sign to show that in New England He makes men.
